Hi. My name is JoJo, and I am a handsome brown and white pit bull mix. I am a 4 year-old boy, and have been in foster care since I was rescued from horrible conditions when I was a young pup. My mom and I were treated horribly by humans, and then we were abandoned.

Some nice people began feeding us, but after what we had been through, it was hard for me to trust any humans. Very slowly, I came around, but I still have to know someone for awhile. I can be very protective of anyone I do trust, and sometimes I bark and growl if I think someone might mean them harm. This can make some people think I’m mean, but I’m really just scared and don’t ever want to be hurt again or have the people who care for me to be hurt.

If I could find the right home, I would be the most loving boy you could want.

I am very healthy now, but my emotional scars are taking longer to heal so I need someone who is patient and loving.
